Unit founded as beginning of a Noble house personal guard Regiment
The unit Commander was chosen as Tyr Mikelsen, a up and comming Mechwarrior assigned to the House bodyguards.
The Noble house is shamed and has most of it's resources stripped, en mass. The Company of combat units decided discretion is the better part of valor and declared themselves Mercenaries. They began gathering all their available units and resources under cover of darkness, and stole their equipment, under the justification of 'No one was going to be using it anyway.'
The Winter's Dream as they are now known, registered with the MRBC, and began a search for missions. After a little while they found a garrison contract on a backwater world.
Attempting their first mission on planet, the Kapten sent out the 151st Heavy Srm Infantry and Squads 2 and 4 of the 17th Kobold Platoon to explore and cleanse a small cave system of enemy fighters. The only casualty was Trooper Donnar's suit. Luckily Donnar himself survived. Unfortunately the enemy fighters managed to escape.
On a recent mission, the units deployed were the Griffin GRF-3M, the LRM Carrier known as Gale, and the 72nd Heavy LRM infantry inside the Goblin "Blood Moon." Their Mission was to recon and retake the Rest Stop known as Rest Stop 829. Prior to the mission the commander was subject to an unforeseen circumstance and thus the unit was assigned to Flank protection.
Acting on a tip from a truck convoy, Kapten Bjornsen sent Ice Queen and Laughing Wolf, The Gale, and The Blood moon, along with the 72nd Heavy LRM Infantry to perform a "recon in force." Once deployed to the target zone, Ice Queen detected the enemy force and the forces under her command rained destruction upon the enemy units. Out of the battle, the forces of Winter's Dream took little damage and rendered an enemy mech unusable. The other mech was damaged, and both pilots were offered surrender terms. The pilots agreed to terms, and became bondsmen attached to the Winter's Dream.
GSF Command notified Winter's Dream Command that the remainder of the Clan Smoke Jaguar remnants that were involved in the mission prior that resulted in winning over two bondsmen were on the move. The remaining 7 battlemechs from the unit were heading towards a grounded Dropship. WD Command ordered a powerful response to intercept and destroy the targets. This response would be led by Lt. Mikelson and Lt. Dammerung working together.
Lt. Mikelson's Marauder was severly damaged with a smashed Gyro. Lt. Dammerung's Demolisher "Squall" Ended up just barely surviving, but with it's motive systems shot to hell and beyond. The SRM Carrier "Monsoon" and the LRM Carrier "Gale" managed to survive with minimal damage. The Griffin piloted by "Ice Queen" was damaged, but not severely. Hunting Moon's Falcon hawk was in the sights of the enemy, and damaged when the combat ended with one enemy mech and one point of Elementals escaping with minor damage due to requested Hegira. A majority of the enemy mechs were fit only for salvage. Two mechs could be rebuilt. A Cauldron Born which was decapitated, and a Grendel which also took gyro damage.
Led by Mechwarrior Otis in his Kyudo, and backed up by Sgt. Hultgren in Cyclone, Winter's Dream was requested to assist in the defense of the Governor's Estate. The defense force consisted of the Kyudo, the Schrek known as "Cyclone", The Strider C called "Blitz" and the battle armor squad attached to it, the Maxim called "Peace of Death" and the battle armor squad associated with it. The three fast units approached the Enemy lines, with "Cyclone" bringing up the rear. As the enemy units were approached, they began laying down mines via Long Range Missiles. Fearing the nature of these mines, Otis ordered a slowing of the approach. Once the mines were distributed, the enemy began to withdraw. Otis wisely decided to let the enemy withdraw, while maintaining his position, in case the enemy decided to cause more mayhem. In the end, no damage was taken by Winter's Dream forces.
Upon arrival at their new base of operations, Kapten Bjornsen ordered a patrol to familiarize the unit with the surrounding terrain. On this mission was the Strider "Blitz," the Maxim "Hunter's Den," the Jackal piloted by "Laughing Wolf," And the Warrior "Twister." The command of the mission was given to Leftenant Segol Lundmark, commander of the 17th Kobold Platoon. Once on scene, the troops advanced quickly but still cautiously . About half way through the patrol, Sgt. Tapio of the Twister detected a few enemy vehicles powering up. As the Winter's Dream units advanced, the unknown units fled. While they were retreating in a calm and collected manner, the troops managed to identify one of the retreating units as a Ferret VTOL. When the enemy units were far enough away, the power armored infantry moved in to where the enemy was first detected. They managed to spot some signs of infantry being in the area as well. They gathered what evidence they could find, and continued their patrol without further incidents.
A message came in from GSF command for a quick response force to be activated to help defend a factory from bandit raiders. The Kapten ordered X.O. Anker to take control of the force. Lt. Anker chose Mine Dancer to accompany the Blood moon and his infantry platoon, as well as the Gale LRM Carrier, and the Vedette known as Tempest. This was done due to the fact that the Bondsman needed the time in cockpit and time to develop a good rapport with the other units.
The quick response force touched down, and advanced upon the offending units. The opposing units advanced forward for a little bit then strategically withdrew, while maintaining the attention of the GSF forces. After a couple of minutes a message came in that there was an additional force involved in the raid. This was not an unruly bandit raid. they had clan and star league equipment and had lured the defenders away as a planned assault. However, the GSF soon had other issues on their radar, literally.
After learning that the drop pods were targeting the major mountain chain on the planet, Kapten Bjornsen was tasked with providing units for a recon mission. He assigned Ice Queen, the 277th Kavalleri Battle Armor Squad inside their Maxim "The Peace of Death", Twister, and the 17th Kobold Platoon along with Hunter's Den for the recon mission.
As the forces converged on the spot where the enemy was detected, Lojtnant Lundmark(Overall commander of the mission) was in a very cautious mood. Once he learned that there was a battalion's worth of mixed vehicles and Mechs he ordered a pause in the advance, and a small withdrawal as the enemy rearguard slowly made their way deeper into the mountains. Continued searching of the landing area revealed the drop pods shared markings with Comstar drop pods. This information was forwarded to the higher ups.
Following up on the leads provided by SIGInt, a combined force of GSF member units tried to keep the main enemy force from leaving the area they were engaged in. Though there was some damage on both sides, the breakthrough happened.
Some of the forces from the previous battle continued a harrassing action, assisted by the Ghosts and Comstar. The GSF had placed a bunch of heavier forces to be an anvil for the enemy to be smashed upon. Though there was some destruction, the majority of the enemy unit made it to their dropship. There was some salvage claimed by the GSF. The Winter's dream recieved a Locust and a Crusader as well as parts.
After some time, the next mission for the Winter's Dream was announced. It was a quick mission to identify a vehicle convoy that was travelling with a fairly large escort. The unit sent on this mission was the Strider "Blitz" and it's accompanying infantry. The task was regarded as a failure, due to the main objective not being completed fully.
Soon after the last failure, the Winter's Dream suffered a loss of face when a combined force of the GSF was emergency airlifted in the face of a raid on a depot for vehicles maintained by Plant 2. There was too much time given to the raiders to get the vehicles started. That fault lays with the commander of the mission Tyr Mikelson. The other Winter's Dream units involved on the mission were: Cyclone, The Maxim 'Peace of death' and "Hunting Moon" in his Falcon Hawk. The GSF force was able to do minor damage to the escorts and only 2 vehicles were not taken.
At the command of the GSF higher-ups, every command was to provide a detached force for garrison duty at a secondary site. The site chosen by Kapten Bjornsen was an asteroid mine. He tasked Lt. Anker and his Heavy LRM Platoon with leading the defense. Backing those troops up were the Hunter's Den along with the Kobold power armor within, The Jackal piloted by Laughing Wolf, and the Vedette known as Tempest. This assignment will last 3 months.
A call came in to the GSF Command center about an ambushed Convoy between Fune and Bridges, two towns nearby. The attackers were not identified but there were a mix of 'Mechs and vehicles among them. The team tasked with this rescue was comprised of Kapten Bjornsen's own 11th Combat engineers, the 151st Heavy SRM Platoon, the Blizzard named Winter's Wish, the Warrior Vtol named Twister, and two Mechs. The mechs were the Kyudo piloted by Otis "Mine Dancer" and Reina "IceQueen" in her Griffin. While not able to assist with the convoy rescue, the units from WInter's Dream will continue on and escort the rest of the convoy with the other GSF forces.
After the conviction of the Nakazawa family for treason, the GSF and planetary forces were sent to both defend the closest site from attack and to arrest the Nakazawa family.
On the defensive mission were a few new units that came as reinforcements from the 2nd Kavalleri. A Sunder Omnimech with battle armor Infantry, a Strider Omnimech with B.A. infantry, a Blackjack omni mech with B.A. infantry and a c3 equipped LRM Carrier.
The attacking force was made up for the Marauder piloted by Tyr, the King Crab piloted by Nester, the Kestrel with the SOG on board and a Scimitar LRM Variant.
These groups were accompanied by other forces from the GSF, the Ghosts and Comstar.
After the last mission ended with a tactical withdrawal in the face of an artillery barrage, the SOG began planning to silence the Long Tom batteries that battered the main forces. With the help of many members of other units, the guns were taken and many turrets were silenced. A number of the enemy retreated or were taken prisoner.
After the mission to silence the guns, the forces resumed the assault from a different location, and with the help of some well timed artillery, the advancing forces managed to secure their target, the head of the Nakazawa family. Once the battle was over, the survivors were given the chance to surrender to the Planetary Governor.
